V. First Stop at the Oldest Church of Bohol
Baclayon church was our first stop. This church is considered as the oldest in the island for it dates back in 1596. However, we were told by our guide from the place that the present structure started in 1727. The church has been run by Jesuits and Agustinians with Frs. Sanchez and Torres as the very first parish priests. The only bad thing of our arrival and visit to the place is the fact that another tour bus full of Korean tourists joined us. We were all crowding to see the altar and the pulpit area to take a closer look to the things around. We took pictures inside the church and it was allowed. [more] |
