Magdalene College
Magdalene College is located at Magdalene street in Cambridge, right next to the bridge on the river Cam. Magdalene College was established in 1428 by king Henry VI and in serves as a sort of a hostel for Benedictine monks who came from the monastery in Fenland to study Canon Law. You can visit the Magdalene college free of charge however some parts of the college are off limits for visitors. Also it is not allowed to walk the lawns apart in the Fellows gardens. It was last of the college that has allowed women to apply in 1988. You can also visit the Pepys library however check before for opening hours. [more] |
