St. Mary’s Church
There are so many shrines to St. Mary all over the world. This here is the embodiment of the way they build churches in Ireland. I’m not much of a fan of architectural terms but everyone is familiar with stained glass windows and to my surprise a whole lot of moos covers the church and gives it that dream like location. I bet it was a wonderful place of gathering for the holy men of the past. I guess it is an Anglican Church; I do not want to offend anybody if I am wrong. There’s one more thing I’d have to add, it seemed that the church was prepared for war, unlike the wooden churches, St. Mary’s Church looks a bit like a fortress. [more] |

St. Mary's Church
St. Mary's Church is located on St. Mary's street, just between Jervis street and Wolfe Tone Street. The church dates back to 1697 when it was designed by sir William Robinson. The church was not completed until 1702 and it is one of the most important churches to have survived that period. It was very popular back in the day among the affluent and the social elite so it has seen many baptisms and weddings of the rich and famous, like for example the Guinness family. However the church is not in use today anymore. [more] |
