Smart Hyde Park Inn, Bayswater I stayed at Smart Hyde Park Inn for two nights just before I moved to my flatshare in Notting Hill. The hostel is located at 48-50 Inverness Terrace only one minute walk to the tube station in Bayswater. The location was really central and good, near to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. I read this hotel had been voted to the best located hostel and that's not difficult to understand. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. I shared a six bed dorm with a kind woman from Spain, a chatty girl from Austria and a really friendly student from the UK. All beds in the same dorm aren’t always taken, so you might only need to share with two or three persons even though you live in a sex-bed dorm. I didn’t get anything stolen, but one guy lost his camera. He suspected it was one of his roommates. So be extra careful with your belongings and use the lockers no matter what. Overall, I enjoyed staying at Smart Hyde Park Inn. It was rather clean (I don’t expect a high level of cleanliness in hostels anymore), it felt secure and safe, the staff was friendly and the hostel was nice. The breakfast of toast with marmalade and milk and cornflakes was no hit, but ok for one morning or two. [more]
