Most visitors to Santa Teresa tend to head only for the cluster of bars on and around Largo dos Guimaraes (the neighbourhood's main square), but it's worth heading further down to Largo das Neves, where you'll find some more nice bars and a friendly crowd. One of the best places for a snack and a drink is Santa Saideira, where you can order a tasty caipivodka (fruit and vodka cocktail) with pineapple (abacaxi, pronounced abacashee), passionfruit (maracujá), or the old faithful - lime. This is a cute little bar on two levels, with a distinctly European feel. The tram stops right in front - at night you should take the tram back, or grab a taxi, as it's not too safe walking between here and the centre of the neighbourhood due to some dark and isolated streets.
