Nice drive great view
Vermillion Lakes is one of my favorite drives just outside the town of Banff. It has a stunning view of Rundle Mountain, and the lakes are beautiful too. When I was growing up in Banff they froze clear a few times and were great to go ice skating on. They have nice little docks in various places along the way. These make for great places to tie your skates up; and in the summertime you’ll often see painters set up and painting there. Vermillion Lakes is by the Mount Norquay entrance to Banff, which is the second one if coming from Calgary and the first if coming from BC or Lake Louise; if you go over the train tracks you’ve gone too far.
