Colorful Paddy's Markets
Paddy’s Markets in downtown Sydney are has everything from clothing, CDs, flowers, jewelry and sunglasses to fruit and fish. Located at Haymarket near Chinatown the markets are interesting for residents and tourists alike. Living in Sydney, I usually went there to get my fruit, as the markets offered a broad selection at a low price range. The markets are open Thursday through Sunday and a great place to stroll around and explore on a Saturday afternoon. Paddy's Markets - one of Sydney's most traditional and largest market
Paddy's Markets is Australia's original Market boasting Australian food, vegetables and other merchandise in very reasonable price. Paddy's Market conveniently located at the downtown, in proximity of China Town and Darling Harbor. This is a relatively good place to buy souvenir, given the price is reasonable and goods variety is large. The merchandise are mainly souvenirs, but different from other souvenir stores, Paddy's Market is where you can get goods out its best value for money. Its fruit and vegetables is good, fresh and cheap, so locals usually go there to buy vegetables. It's a good place for you to grab some fresh fruits when you are around in China town or Darling Harbor. [more] |

Paddy´s Market conveniently cheap but not the best market
Although Paddy´s Market was the perfect place to find all sorts of items and I particularly loved the food market area, it was not like the other markets. This was not a place where you can buy traditional or artiest items. It had the feel and the look of a bargain market. So if you are looking for general bargains this is the place, but not if you are expecting to find a beautifully looking market with stunning crafts. You will find conveniently cheap items but not of the best I´ve seen in Sydney. Like in any other market is better to have a look around first to compare prices and quality. [more] |

Australia - Sydney - Paddy's Market
If you are looking for some cheap shopping in Sydney, then head to Paddy's Market. It's open Thurs - Sun and Bank Holidays. You can find it in Haymarket right by the Monorail and Lightrail stations. I had arrived in Sydney from India and had no decent clothes (worthy of a night out in the city). I picked up some real bargains here. It's located under a big shopping mall as well so if you don't find what you're looking for downstairs, head to the 2nd (or was it 3rd) floor of the shopping centre where there are some discount clothing outlets as well. Paddy’s Market, Sydney, Australia.
My trip to Paddy’s Market in Sydney’s Haymarket area was quite fulfilling. The market has a good combination of regular sellers and private sellers, the latter can easily participate in the market by way of a casual card that allows for either a single day of selling or a way to sell on a come as you go basis. The market is mainly a weekend affair with Saturday being the best day for fresh foodstuffs. However there is a wide range of goods on offer and the mix of new and second hand items made for some great bargains and an interesting day out. Paddy’s also has another market just off Parramatta road just a few minutes walk from Sydney's Flemington train station. [more] |
