Cirque du Soleil

I've been to Vegas 4 times and each time, I try to do something a little different from my last trip. I've always wanted to go to a Cirque du Soleil show, but never had the opportunity. But Las Vegas has 5 different shows to choose from!!

I decided to try Mystere as it was one of the longest running Cirque du Soleil shows. I figured you can't go wrong with a classic!

The very first thing I noticed when I got to my seat was that every seat was fantastic! Especially the ones that were further up. When you're further up you can see EVERYTHING! It's the big picture view. And your seats really are not that far away, i.e. they're not nosebleeds. I was talking to someone after the show and they said they wished that they were a little further up. She was in row 4 and she found that she had to crane her neck to see things and ended up missing a lot of the action on the sides of the stage.

If anything, I was absolutely blown away by the amazing set and performers. It didn't matter that the story line didn't make much sense because the performances more than made up for it. My favourte parts were the people climbing "down" the wall like a spider, the taiko from the "sky" and the man spinning the "cube." I can't explain what the set was like because it was just surreal. The set was constantly changing by the minute and moving too.

And before the show and in between each act, the comedic relief was excellent. Simple gags, good lines and excellent improv.

I thought the show was worth every penny. I couldn't believe how fast an hour and a half could be. If I go back to Vegas, I'd like to check out O. It's all in the water...how cool would that be? [more]
