Bridge of Allen Brewery
Not quite Stirling, but very close, especially from the university grounds. If you are looking for a really good gift to take home to your loved ones go and visit the Bridge of Allen Brewery. It is tiny, just one room for brewing and one for the ‘pub’. You can ask any questions you like about the process of making beer, they show you the equipment and are very generous with their samples. Make sure you take home a bottle of ‘Stirling Brig’ or ‘Sheriffmuir’. On request they also offer personalized beer. But what is best is that I never felt pressurized to buy anything. I once took a friend and after our samples we left without purchase, it was no problem at all. Not really a destination on its own, but great if your in the area. [more] |
