John Lennon Museum
When I first spotted that Tokyo had a John Lennon museum, I have to confess that I was slightly puzzled …until the name Yoko Ono popped into my head. Opened on 9th October 2000 (which would have been Lennon’s 60th birthday), this museum chronicles the usual Beatles stuff; his childhood, his early years in Liverpool, the various stages of the Beatles' fame, his relationship with Yoko Ono and their commitment to the peace movement, the breakup of the Beatles and his years as a house husband caring for Sean. The museum had some excellent displays of Lennon's handwritten lyrics, trademark wire rim glasses, leather jacket, U.K. passport, guitars, white Steinway piano and other memorabilia. Even if you’re not a Lennon/Beatles fan, it’s still worth a look.
