Mallorca – Train to Soller
I was suggested to take the train to Soller because it was a nice ride. It departs from Plaza España (Palma) every two hours approximately. It is a narrow track train and it started working in 1912, so when you are traveling you get the feeling of going back in time inside its wooden interior which is conserved as it was at the beginning of last century. The trip takes you through orange fields and the sierra tramontana landscape and also through a series of tunnels. There is one that is particularly long (taking over 5 minutes to pass it). Here the temperature drops dramatically and there’s a strong smell of wet rock. You can appreciate beautiful views during the ride, specially the one of Soller before arriving.
