Movie Theater at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi
I had very little interaction with Emiratis as they seem to keep their distance from foreigners. Oddly enough, the United Arab Emirates is probably one of the most international places I have visited with an ethnically diverse population that I really have not seen anywhere else. I noticed there is a heavy Indian influence on film, entertainment, interior design, music, and art. At the movie theater in the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, I saw a Bollywood movie called “Marigold” starring actress Ali Larter. It was making fun of and embracing the whole Bollywood thing at the same time. It was funny, aesthetically awe inspiring and a great way to get away from the mid-afternoon heat.
