mycafé Aveda Covent Garden, London
I don’t know any other place where you can combine a beauty- or hair treatment with a good meal. But if that’s what you’re after, mycafé Aveda Covent Garden is the place to be. When you step inside you will face the hair salon which is often quite busy with customers and attractive hairstylists who show off their talent. The shelves and stands on the left, and further inside, are full of different Aveda skincare-, hair- and beauty products. Don’t miss to have a look here before you continue to the café.
The café is in the back of the place. If you enjoy looking at the people strolling by on High Holborn, choose one of the high bar stools by the tall windows. The armchairs by the lower tables in the middle of the café are more comfy though, but often occupied since it tends to be rather busy here during lunch. Despite that the atmosphere is always calm and you won’t be disturbed by any loud chatter. Maybe that is thanks to the peaceful environment and that quite many of the guests come directly from a relaxing beauty treatment. Two ladies by a nearby table had obviously just got their hair washed and/or coloured because both of them had a big white towel on their head.
Many guests at mycafé Aveda Covent Garden are business dressed men and women who work in the area. I actually think I was the only one in the whole restaurant who didn’t wear a black outfit. But as long as you don’t wear worn jeans, a simple T-shirt and flip-flops you won’t get any snorts or depreciating looks from the staff. The menu is a combination of breakfast-lunch dishes and everything is 98% organic and healthy. The prices are pretty high, but our food was delicious. This café also serve breakfast and different smoothies and juices. And the service was terrific!
