If you want an impressive view of the city of the Gold Coast one of the best places to go is to the 78th level of Q1. Situated on Surfers Paradise Boulevard this is the World's current tallest residential building. Q1 is nearly beach front, you can see from the Tweed area in New South Wales at the South to the next large city Brisbane on a clear day. The view is absolutely breathtaking. When I went, we stayed up on the observation deck for a good hour or so before we had to leave from getting dizzy looking down. The best times to go up there is probably in September during whale watching season since you can see far out into the ocean. There is - of course - and entry fee to enter the observation deck which is currently - Adult $17.50; Concession $12.50; child $10. You can also rent apartments here for your holiday, although it's probably very expensive. One funny fact, in March 2007 two men were booked after base jumping from the top of the building!! [more] |
