If you happen to be stopping in the area, a visit to the weekly market in the town of Totana should be a must. Held on a Wednesday, come rain or shine, the market takes up the streets adjacent to the Rambla, or dried river bed. Everything is on sale here, from leather goods to kids clothes, fruit and vegetables to handbags, household items, plants, cosmetics... just about all you need. The prices are good, and as the town is so pretty, combine the visit with a drink in the cafe in the park for a good morning out. The market runs from early until about 1pm, a little later in the summertime. The fresh fruit has to be seen to be believed, and we bought the biggest strawberries I have ever seen. Even the kids enjoyed it , as half way round they got an ice cream and a run around the pretty park. [more] |
