Van Buuren Museum
Van Buuren Museum is located at Avenue Léo Errera 41. This is where David van Buuren and his wife Alice used to live. As Burren was an art collector he turned his house into a living museum. The house itself is stunning and dates back to 1929, you can see that it is done in typical Dutch style and notice the sculptures, the beautiful paintings and the art deco setting knocked my socks off. The paintings well there are plenty and almost every century is represented. But most impressive is the garden. There are 3 parts, the picturesque garden that is a tribute to the 20s, then the Labyrinth that lead to 7 rooms of greenery and the garden of the heart. The price might seem hefty, but this is truly an unique experience. Opening hours are daily from 2:00pm until 5:30pm (closed on Tuesdays), price of admission for the house is €10, while price of admission for the gardens only is €5. [more] |
