Best French onion soup
If you are a die hard Italian food fanatic, if you are in Budapest, you simply have to visit Pompei. Its a small pizzeria/restaurant on the beautiful Liszt Ferenz square (near to both the Music academy and the Metro station) and even though in winter it might get a bit crowded, in the summers you can sit outside on the terrace and just watch the world go by while you wait for your food. And the food is delicious. My personal favourite is the French onion soup served in bread, however while it might pass off as a starter you will feel full after you are done, trust me. There is nothing more delicious then enjoying this soup and warming up after you have been sightseeing out in the cold. And while pizzas are not the best I had, their pasta dishes make up for it. The staff is friendly, they speak English and there is a menu in English as well. Pompei is located on Liszt Ferenc ter 3 (6th district), its open from noon until 1am and prices are really affordable. [more] |
