Festival: Cabbagetown
Cabbagetown is a neighborhood in Toronto with one of the strangest names I have ever heard. I wanted to go to visit the neighborhood and the Cabbagetown festival seemed to be a perfect opportunity. I asked around what the legend behind this strange name was but people said they did not know, but it’s related to the poor immigrants that lived here a long time ago. Now the neighborhood is far from a poor one, only a few streets have poor houses. It has almost only Victorian houses and it looks impeccable. The festival had great art works and crafts. I bought a small ashtray that says Cabbagetown to forever remember this place. [more] |
