Tihany Doll Museum - Tihanyi Babamúzeum
One of the quite a few of attractions places while visiting Tihany in Hungary is the porcelain dolls museum called Tihany Doll Museum (Tihanyi Babamúzeum). Here, at this museum, very, very old porcelain dolls (some are made back in 1881 or before) are some displayed on glass shelves. Some are quite interesting, pretty, and some more are plain weird-looking and even a bit scary to my opinion. I am not quite positive whether there are really 600 dolls here at the museum, but it is what they stated on their information; that there are about 600 porcelain dolls and the year of the making were ranging from 1840 to 1920. The entrance fee of this museum is not that much, only about 400 Forint per person (adult). My favorite part of the museum would be the porcelain dolls dressed in authentic Hungarian traditional costumes; they are darn gorgeous and uniquely beautiful and colorful. This museum is a two-storeys building and before you enter the museum, there is a disappointing warning of no camera allowed inside; but when we were there, many tourists of course still took pictures and videos and we were naughtily copying what they were doing, taking pictures that is.
