A wonder of Arts
As an artist I was simply overwhelmed by this beautiful invention. It a culmination of all arts with the result Art brings out into the world: getting all the people together. it s joy to see how all the nationalities are surrounding the fountain every night al 9 o clock... The Magic Fountain of Montjuic is REALLY a must to visit if you re there . You ll find it in front of Barcelona's Grand Palace, which I think makes this spectacular piece to seem even more striking and extravagant. The fountain attracts so many of tourists for its extraordinary water, light and music show. You can even watch the show staying on the grass. The best thing is to see this show during the evening as you can appreciate the lighting effects much more. During winter the fountain can be seen on Fridays and Saturdays from 19:00 to 21:00. Sessions with music are at 19:00 19:30 20:00 20:30. I think the summer program is much wider. You may catch the show till late midnight. Enjoy! [more] |

Magic fountain
Magic fountain is located on the square right in front of Palau Nacional and truly it is a magnificent sight. The Magic Fountain was built for the 1929 World exhibition and it has been attracting visitors ever since even though it became quite derelict at one point and had to be restored. The concept was of fountains and cascades and it was designed and envisioned by engineer Carles Buigas and the fountains and cascades ran from the Palau National all the way down to the foot of the hill. The most spectacular was of course the magic fountain. The fountain was restored for the Summer Olympic Games of 1992. It is a combination of light, music and water with the Palau National that serves as a backdrop and it is a must see. You can view the show during the Winter months from Oct to Sept on Fri and Sat from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, with music sessions every half hour. From May to Oct the show is available on Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun from 8:00pm until midnight with music shows from 9:30pm until 11:300pm. [more] |
