Rooftop Bar
You can't go to Chiang Mai without paying a visit to the Rooftop Bar - it has a retractable ceiling!!! You can lie on cushions under the stars or look out at sacred Phra That Doi Suthep which is lit up on the side of the mountain at night. The bar plays reggae from BBC radio among other chilled out classics - it's the perfect place to enjoy a Chang or two and some western comfort food. The only problem is if you don't know about it, you won't find it. To get to the Rooftop Bar walk through the shop selling hemp clothing opposite Thai Pai gate and climb three flights of stairs. You'll know when you get to the entrance from all the flip flops kicked off outside. So take it easy, kick off your shoes, lie back and relax. [more] |
