St. Mary-Le-Strand, London

4.0 stars

St. Mary-Le-Strand

St. Mary-Le-Strand is located at The Strand (take tube to Temple/Holborn).

St. Mary-Le-Strand dates back to 1717 and was designed by architect James Gibbs (who was also responsible for the design of St. Martin-in-the-fields). Also you will be able to see the influence of Italian architecture which is more then obvious with the small cupola and the tower dominating the church. Another great venue for classical music recitals. St. Mary-Le-Strand, like many of the buildings and churches in London was damaged heavily during the World War II bombings but was restored in 1977.

Opening hours are from Mon to Fri from 11:00am until 4:00pm and from 4:00pm on Sundays. [more ]
