Absolute Spa at the Century If you want to treat yourself to a massage or other type of spa treatment, this is the place to go. Let me start off by saying it's not cheap. However, I found it to be an excellent spa. It's actually located inside the Century Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. The outside of the hotel is old and seems dingy. However, the spa inside is the absolute opposite. Once you enter the spa, it is clean, comfortable, inviting and just lovely. All the staff are wonderful, professional and very helpful. I signed up for the 1.5 hour massage. I purposely went early as I wanted to enjoy the complimentary pool and eucalyptus steam spa. You can go as early as you'd like/stay as long as you like afterwards to enjoy these two things. You're also given a complimentary robe, slippers and locker to use while there. While you're waiting for your service, you can also sit in the waiting room. There are a number of beverages to choose from and you can have as much as you like. A number of comfortable chairs and chaises are available to sit on while you read the assortment of magazines that are out and about for you to read. I could have stayed in this one room all day long. When it's time, you're taken to where you need to go for your treatment. I was given a number of choices of massage oils. The treatment was heavenly and worth every penny. After my treatment, I got to have a complimentary light lunch. It was a healthy salad, muffin and fruit. Excellent tasting and wonderful after a treatment. Once I was done, I had use of the showers and powder room that was packed full of supplies, i.e. hair spray, spray on deodorant, etc., if you forgot your own supplies. Please note that it's in a separate room from the lockers. Regardless of the $150 that I paid for my massage, I enjoyed every moment. I felt completely relaxed, enjoyed the experience and would love to go again. When you're in the lobby, you also see all the pictures of the celebs that have enjoyed the spa too...so it's got to be good. Located at 1015 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC. [more]
