Lazy Lizard Hostel

 stars
The Lazy Lizard is perhaps the shittiest place we’ve stayed in the first world. It’s a $10/night hostel in Moab, Utah. It’s dirty, cold, worn and squalid. But it’s completely worth a visit if for nothing more than the people you will meet. First of all, it’s somewhat of a hostel meets halfway house. You’re pretty much guaranteed to meet some semi-homeless locals, itinerant long-termers and people recently released from jail. True to form, we met people in each category during a three-night stay in December. On the upside, expect towels and hot running water as well as tips from the locals and long-termers. [more]
