Cathedral
Right inside the fortress of Alba Iulia there lays this beautiful cathedral. It was built during the 11th century, but what we see today are the upgrades from the 13th century. The cathedral is built in the Gothic style and and still functions as a place of worship. The special thing about it is that it hosts very important tombs. Iancu de Hunedoara was buried here. He is one of the most important historical figures of medieval Romania. Queen Izabela is also buried here, together with King Ladislau. The cathedral also hosts Romania's oldest religious wooden statue, that of Virgin Mary. All in all, the cathedral is really worth visiting, as it is one of the main attractions in Alba Iulia.
