The Most Expensive Sushi Restaurant in LA!
Urasawa is considered the most expensive sushi restaurant in LA. At $300/person excluding drinks or tip, chef Urasawa specially individualizes each experience for the scant number of patrons who fit at the pale wood counter and the two adjoining tables. It's an intimate and cozy experience for sure. The wholesome toro is pitted against the tangy, boiled chrysanthemums, while a kettle of tea awaits to please with a stimulating brew of mushrooms, shrimp, and ginkgo nuts. How ever you would like your meat cooked, achieving purity is this chef’s goal. Though exorbitantly pricey, it still pales in comparison to the most expensive restaurant in the US -- Masa Sushi in New York City. [more ]
Urasawa is the most popular, but also the most expensive sushi restaurant that I know of in all of Beverly Hills, California, located at 218 N Rodeo Drive.
Diners who come to Urasawa gladly fork over $250.00 for the omakase-style meals created here by the ever-popular sushi chef, Hiroyuki Urasawa. Expect to find such dishes here as seared toro served on a hot stone, tofu topped with caviar and gold flakes, and tataki-style Kobe beef with wasabi and sea salt. Diners usually choose to have 25 to 30 courses here.
Naturally, reservations are absolutely required. Seating is daily form noon to 3 pm for lunch and from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm for dinner, daily. [more ]
