Carey Park, great for family, walking and golfing

 stars
If you take Main Street or Plum Street straight south to the edge of town, you will hit Carey Park, Hutchinson's largest park. It follows a river and has some great amenities. There's loads of stuff for family - lots of playground equipment (including stuff that's safe for toddlers and younger children) and picnic areas. There is also a couple of fountains and ponds throughout the park. It's really popular place for feeding ducks and geese - bring some old bread and they'll come right up to you. I even fed one out of my hand!

There is also a great golf course in Carey Park. For more information about the golf course, call (620) 694-2698.

There is a gazebo space for functions. There's some great trails for walking/hiking - the terrain is a bit hilly but mostly smooth so it's good for skating and cycling as well.

The park is open from 5:00am to midnight. [more]
