University Library
University Library, The Museum of Modern Art and Modern Gallery are located at the same place – in the building that used to be a school for girls. The building was designed by Zammattio and it dates back to 18th century. Most of the building is taken up by the University Library where at the first floor you can see the permanent exhibition of the Glagolitic script and its development in Croatia. It is specific to the area since it was used the longest in the Istria and Kvarner area. It is interesting if you are are curious about this type of thing. On the last floor you can check out the Museum of the Modern art if you feel like it but it is nothing really impressive (but that’s just my opinion). It has a selection of modern Croatian art and a number of art works from the artists local to the area. [more] |
