Dumplings to die for
Din Tai Feng outlets in Taipei are invariably filled to the brim with Japanese tourists during peak hours. Buses stop in front of the restaurant at regular intervals and just discharge a pack of tourists to consume yummy dumplings, and it is almost impossible to get a table without a long wait on weekends. I would say, ultimately, that the wait is well worth it. The dumplings are succulent and delicious, and have to be eaten with a specific technique. You bite a little hole in the skin and suck out the soup slowly before eating the rest of the dumpling so you don’t get scalded. This outlet also has an open kitchen which is very entertaining. As much as I love food, I rarely say this about any restaurant, but I love Din Tai Feng! [more] |
