Noisy and unpleasant
This was another one of those touristy places that was all hyped up and then failed to deliver. I couldn't believe how cheesy and geared toward foreigners it was - so much so that it was easy to forget that local Egyptians live in Cairo at all. I'm not really a fan of cartoon-style local places, and unfortunately this is exactly what the Naguib Mahfouz is. And of course, because of the location you have to put up with the surrounding constant barrage of local vendors pestering you to buy something. [more] |
