Allerton
Allerton is a funky, young professional area in the south eastern part of Liverpool. The area includes the infamous Penny Lane (made famous by the Beatles song 'Penny Lane') although there isn't actually much to do on Penny Lane itself. Allerton is situated at the end of Smithdown Road, where there are fantastic transport links back to the centre of town (buses going about every five minutes). It's probably about three miles from the centre of Liverpool and about five minutes walk to the lovely Sefton Park. There are loads of wine bars, cafes and shops on Allerton Road itself. There are also some really nice, leafy suburban streets in this area if you need something quieter. [more] |
