Perkins Restaurant and Bakery
Perkins Restaurant and Bakery was one of my grandmother's favourite restaurants and for good reason. The service is quick and if you're a regular the staff will greet you by name. The food is good, the portions are large and the prices are decent. They serve a variety of standard restaurant/casual dining fare dishes - sandwiches, steaks, chicken dishes, pasta and salads, etc. They also serve breakfast all day. My favourite is Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Delicious at any time of day, I think! The best thing about Perkins is the pies. They have a great selection of pies - chocolate cream, banana cream, pumpkin, cherry, apple, etc. The selection can change daily. You can also buy whole pies; they make for great housewarming or hostess gifts. The restaurant is open everyday at 6:00am. It's a good place to sit down and have an early morning coffee if you're on the road. It's open until 11:00pm Monday to Thursday and until midnight the rest of the week. [more] |
