Yad Vashem: Architecturaly Amazing
Yad Vashem is the definitive holocaust museum. It has more meaning in Jerusalem than any other place in the world. And if you find yourself in Israel, this museum is a must see.
Anticipate spending half a day at this sprawling museum which includes five different viewing areas: The Hall of Remembrance, The Children's Memorial, The Valley of the Communities, The Avenue and Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations, and he Memorial to the Deportees.
PLUS two new museums: Holocaust History Museum and Art Museum.
It's architecture stunning which is actually what I found very attractive about the visit. Obviously, the subject matter of the museum is taken seriously but I encourage every visitor to also notice its beauty.
A quick tip: You'll find a majority of the visitors as members of very LARGE tour groups. If you're traveling alone or with a partner, pay attention to their movements. Try to get ahead of these large groups otherwise you'll find it extremely difficult to view the items inside of the museum.
Also, they are strict about no cameras in the museum. Be sure to keep it hidden. [more ]
