Bistro with Golf Club view and great food
Josh’s Bistro is located at the Springwood Country Club on Hawkesbury Road. He has great food in a nice open seating inside at on a patio. There is a bar smack in the middle of the inside dining, but Josh says it is never a problem with kids coming for dinner. There are beautiful country and golf course views to enjoy.
Families are extremely welcome with the kids able to act freely and have their run of the dining room. They can enjoy their time while the parents relax. Josh is hoping to set up gaming stations in the future for entertainment. There are colouring and pencils for the kids now.
The hours are 12:00-3:00 Wednesday thru Sunday and Wednesday thru Saturday from 5:00-9:00. They are closed on Sunday. It is a licensed establishment and they accept all cards and eftpos. There is a substantially large parking lot in front of the club. Josh says don’t worry if the lot is full, most of those people are there for golfing only and doesn’t mean that the bistro is booked.
The menu is Australian cuisine with entrees from $3.00-$18.00, mains $12.00-$23.00. There are weekly and daily specials always listed, Josh changes them often. Thursday and Fridays kids eat free with adult meals. There are also $10 lunch menu specials. There are vegetarian options on the menu and he will cater to all allergies. The kid’s menu is chicken nuggets/chips, fish/chips, ham and pineapple pizza $6.00 for each option and ice cream for $2.00.
This is an historic club for the Springwood area. You have to walk through it to reach the bistro. There are many pictures lining the walls of Australia’s past that are very interesting.
Josh is having a Christmas in July special right now with a three course dinner for $28 per head. Choose one main and one dessert with choices such as butternut pumpkin soup with sour cream, honey roasted ham with baked and steamed veggies and gravy, warm plum pudding with cream, warm sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and more. I think I better head down there again.
I interviewed Josh for a publishing company’s review of his bistro. He is a great guy only having the restaurant 4 months. He is still working out some details for things, but it is great service and mouth watering food. If you go down as how is new twins are doing. He is a new daddy. [more]
