Nature Church
Because of the efforts of the current city officials, Las Piñas City is standing as one good place for tourists. Among the reasons for tourists to visit this beautiful city is the Mary Immaculate Church or popularly known as Nature Church. As the name implies, this church is surrounded by nature—plants, flowers, and trees everywhere. The main church boasts of its unique architecture. Everything inside is made of wood. The chairs look like burnished cut trunks; the altar is wooden and at its back lies a wooden sculpture of the Madonna and Child; and the ceiling is a typical cover of a Nippa Hut (the national house of the country.) Just a little news: last year, 2007, on New Year’s eve, Nature Church’s ceiling burned because of fireworks. But because the church has many patrons including some city officials, the ceiling was restored immediately. Today, Nature Church stands as beautiful as ever. Trust me; I live nearby. [more] |
