I Heart Chocolat Cakes!
Manila offers a lot of cafés including both foreign-owned and locally owned. But, I will talk about the latter which is, by the way, becoming the talk of all chocoholics around the city—Chocolat. As the name implies, don’t expect special coffee from this café. Chocolat is known for its "deep, dark chocolate cakes." For me, Chocolat cakes are the best. I like cakes, but I don’t eat just any cake. I hate to eat a slice of dry cake especially when I get to the middle part. It’s the kind of cake that you won’t eat without the icing. Na-ah! Luckily, I discovered the cakes from Chocolat. They have enough sweetness that’s not too addicting but can simply make your tongue crave for more. Yup! That’s from a certified chocoholic like me! My favorites are the three best-sellers: the Bailey’s, Kahlua, and Classic. In addition to the line of best-sellers, I recommend my newly discovered goodness—Death by Tablea. Just take a bite of this cake so you’ll know what its name means. One best reason you should taste this cake is its main ingredient—the local Cacao. Yes, you heard it right! Chocolat cakes use local ingredients yet boast a world-class taste. Chocolat also offers other flavors such as Tiramisu and Strawberry Cheesecake, but trust me; the chocolate cakes are the best. With such taste-worthy cakes, I can’t give you any warning on the Chocolat cakes. Actually, doctors say that the dark chocolate is good for your health because it reduces blood pressure. Well for me, whether it’s good or bad for health, I won’t let my visit to any branch pass without taking a bite. One last good news for Chocolat cake lovers! It has branches in SM City North EDSA and in Makati. [more] |
