Alligator's gona bite you
While in Bratislava my friends wanted to take me to their favorite bar, which they kept calling ‘Alley-Gate-Or.’ As we walked though the streets, we came upon a small sign that read, ‘Alligator’ and I realized that I was a goober for not picking up on that. We went down a narrow stairway into a smoke-filled, dimly lit red room that was alive with people dancing and writhing around. It was noisy and cramped, not a great place to catch up with friends, but it was a great place to people watch and go dancing. The music was an amazing mix of 90’s music I thought I wouldn’t ever hear again and large TVs show ads for muscle cars and Harleys. Then they set the bar on fire. Seriously. Rammstein’s Du Hast (remember that one?) came on, the lights dimmed, and the bartender lit the bar on fire. Now, Rhode Island’s ‘Great White Incident’ had been a while before this, but still… those narrow stairs I mentioned were the only way out. But hey, if you’re going to go out in a bar fire, at least you’ll be doing it in style here. [more] |
