L’Auberge du Petit Matelot The peninsular of Quiberon is a well-visited area and prices for accommodation, especially in the summer season, can be high. A better bet is to head slightly away from the peninsular itself and look for a bed in Penthièvre or Ploemel. The Auberge du Petit Matelot is on the main road (the D768) in Penthièvre and easy to spot with a large buoy outside. It offers good, clean rooms for as a little as €40 out of season and is a 5 minute walk from a large beach.
