Nice trip
A friend of mine visited Holland a few months ago. Of course she was very jealous of me going to Amsterdam now. Being in Holland, she visited a tour in the House of Bols and recommended to me. Well Yesterday I’d visit the House of Bols and indeed it was as nice as she told me. I have so much inspiration for nice drinks at my own party’s, that I already send my friends an email for a party at my place. [more] |

Lovely genever experience!
If you're planning to visit Amsterdam, you should certainly visit House of Bols! It's a so called cocktail & genever experience, where you can learn everything about genever brand Lucas Bols. Not only by seeing, but also by smelling and tasting! You can also take a bartending course, or actually a 'flairtending' course at the House of Bols bartending academy! It was a great experience! Haven't been? Check it out!
Rather than just an attraction House of Bols calls itself a 'Cocktail and Genever' experience and I must say, I agree. If you're looking for places to visit in Amsterdam this is definitely worth it. Before a demonstration of how your senses affect each other and a flaring session, the House of Bols takes you through the history of Bols, hollands oldest genever. To top it off the staff will make you your favorite cocktail at the end of the tour. All this for a little less than 12 euro. [more] |

House Of Bols Museum
The House of Bols is such a unique experience! Being in a museum and feeling slightly tipsy on your way out seems slightly odd but it’s true. It is only 10 Euro entrance fee and for that price it is definitely the best value place I went to in Amsterdam. The guy who served us on the way in gave us a great introduction to the museum, alcohol varieties and Lucas Bols himself. After that you’re free to explore the museum as you please. You can read and watch lots of info as you’d expect from a museum but the highlight is visiting the cocktail bar at the end. You can use a special computer system to create your own cocktail which a bartender will then make for you in the most impressive bar. You are also allowed to have a couple of shots of your choice and if you show more interest you can receive a lot more. It’s a great place to start an early evening of drinking. You would pay at least 20 Euros for these kind of drinks anywhere in the centre of Amsterdam. [more] |
