The city tower of Enns (Stadtturm)
The main attraction in the town of Enns for me was the city tower (Stadtturm). For a small fee (1 euro if I remember well) one can climb up to the top of the tower and see the most beautiful and most “Austrian” view of Austria I can imagine. To the south one can see the Alps quite far away, to the North is the Danube, the plain around it and the lower mountains on the border between Austria and Czech Republic in the distance. And the whole beautiful town of Enns is under your feet.The city of Linz is also visible, although not very well. This tower alone is a good enough reason to visit Enns. [more] |
