A taste of Moorish tradition at the Molino de Harina (Moorish Mill Museum)

 stars
The Museo Molino de Harina (Flour Mill Museum )is located in a small cave, named Compas Cave, next to the Main Square in Mijas Pueblo. This Mill House recreates a traditional Moorish flour mills used in Mijas Pueblo for centuries. To rebuild the machinery they´ve used original pieces inherited from father and grandfather. The oldest part of the machinery is 200 years old. The grinding stone is a huge piece of 1.20 meters in diameter. This is a very tiny museum, as it really looks like a cave house, and you´ll probably take about 10 min to see it. The entrance to the Museum is free. Really worth a visit! [more ]
