Magnificent Spiral Rocks hiking trail
The Needles were a magnificent group of red spiral rock formations in the south east area of Canyonlands National Park. The spirals were formed by the erosion of Cedar Mesa sandstone rocks. It really stand out on top of Elephant Canyon. This area was about 120km south of Moab. There were many trails for long day hikes and campsite facilities for about €15 per night for those who wanted to stay overnight. It is important you take enough supplies as this site was part of the wilderness and the only place to get water was at the Visitor´s Center. [more] |
