Yes, Thats a Green Vespa over the Door
Its an odd sight, especially as this Phnom Penh, Cambodia. High above the doorway at the entrance to The Green Vespa, there is indeed, a Green Vespa. The bar and restaurant is run by a very nice guy from Northern Ireland who knows Cambodia inside out. Its a very welcoming sort of place and I used it as my base during a week of fact finding in the country. The pub has good old British food such as sausage and mash, pies and even New Zealand lamb. The Vespa theme came from a previous owner, but the one thing it does do is attract custom in an area which is a long promenade of tourist bars and restaurants [more] |

Green Vespa
This I suppose is a confirmation of what others have written but it is hard not to pop into the Green Vespa on Sisowath Quay in Phnom Pehn. The Quay is a lovely place and a wander along this 'promenade' alongside the river (which is almost at its meeting point with the Mekong), is good in itself. But then the sight of an old Green Vespa scooter above the doorway is something of a draw. Inside theres the welcoming Northern Irish manager, a good selection of drinks and very good food. On my last trip there I used it as my daytime base, partly for the food, but also for a chat with fellow travellers and residents. [more] |
