The Waterguard - Vegan Beer and Mixed Architecture
The Waterguard is an unusual pub at the western end of Cardiff Bay’s Mermaid development. Housed in a truly mad mix between a Victorian-front and a futuristic modern building the inside is very contemporary with lots of mirrors, polished wood and artistic photographs of the Cardiff area. It’s a comfortable and usually fairly sedate place and one of the big attractions is that it has an excellent selection of Samuel Smith lagers and stouts and also offers vegan beers. There’s a terrace area at the back of the pub with views over the water and it’s a welcome contrast to some of the nosier and more rowdy bars in the Bay itself. [more] |
