Beachy Head
Beachy Head is the prominent headland at the eastern end of the Seven Sister’s white chalk cliffs, close to the town of Eastbourne. It is a beautiful and windswept area to look out over the English Channel and there is a car park and numerous walking trails along the cliffs. The spot is also very popular for parascending and there’s a free Countryside Centre with information about the area and its flora and fauna. Beachy Head also has a somewhat darker reputation as one of the prime spots for committing suicide in the UK and there are several signs for The Samaritans helpline around the area. [more] |
