The Negros Museum
Sometimes, it helps going to a local museum to gain knowledge about the place you’re visiting. In Bacolod, the Negros Museum is the perfect place to head to when yearning for a background about the entire Negros Island. It’s funny but even though I grew up in Bacolod City, I didn’t know anything about its history. But visiting the Negros Museum helped a lot. As expected, I learned about the island through the photos of elite families of the past and other relics. Visitors are not allowed to take pictures though. Another good thing about this museum is that a local tour guide will help you make the most out of your museum experience. He will explain about the families, their legends, local industries, and more. Whether you are a local or a foreign tourist, dropping by the Negros Museum is a good thing to explore the city’s rich history. It’s open from Monday-Saturday, 9am to 6pm. [more] |
