Free entrance to the oldest museum in Southern Africa on Wednesdays
The South African Museum was the first museum open in southern Africa more than 170 years ago. It is located right in the heart of Cape Town adjacent to the Company Gardens. Its exhibitions are mainly based on science and anthropology. This museum is family friendly with a great display of fossils and a replica of an enormous Blue Whale in one of the ceilings . Also a Victorian Clothes exhibition and remains of tools from the Stone Age. You will find this Museum in Queen Victoria Street opposite to the Parliament Haus. Entrance is free every Wednesday.
