High Atlas Mountains – a cool and scenic mountain retreat!
No trip to Marrakech is complete without a visit to the spectacular High Atlas Mountain range. I hired a private taxi from my Riad in the Medina for £80 and thoroughly enjoyed the scenic winding drive up into the snow capped mountains. I hired a tour guide who took me on a 3 hour hike up the mountain paths, through several typical Berber villages and the Royal Kasbah. The scenery was out of this world and the mountain air cool and fresh. You can spot working donkeys and there are several small restaurants where you sit, relax and enjoy a truly memorable Moroccan lunch. [more] |
