Restaurant Alfonso, is an up market restaurant in the town of Pinoso.
The restaurant specialised in paella’s. They have a full a la carte menu and also provide a lunchtime ‘menu del dia’, menu of the day.
The waiter’s are dressed immaculately and the service is very good. This is a traditional Spanish town, where Spanish is mainly spoken, but one can get by with the waiter’s basic English. The menu’s are in Spanish, but this is not a problem.
I have been to this restaurant twice.
The menu del dia, is normally a complimentary plate of salad on the table for all to pick from. First course is normally a soup, a plate of meats, or spaghetti or macaronis.
The main course is typically, chicken, pork, thin beef or lamb.
Desserts are basic, crème caramel, ice cream or a tart of the day. You get one small alcoholic or soft drink. This comes in at around 11€, plus (IVA) VAT.
For a main meal I have had the house speciality Paella, very tasty indeed. My friends have had fish and beef. All the food is cooked very well to your liking, but in my opinion a little on the expensive side, although saying that, it is what you would expect to pay in this sort of restaurant. [more ]
