Wartime Singapore

 stars
The Changi Museum is soley about the wartime experiences in Singapore, and the Changi prisoner of war camp by the same name. The history of how Singapore fell so easily to the Japanese army is fascinating if only for it being one of the worst failures of miltary stategy ever. The Brisitsh were unable to defend Singapore and surrendered after being outmanouvered by troops arriving from Malaysia, not as they expected, from the sea. The museum has exhibitions and stories of this most miserable time in Singapores history. Entrance to the museum is free and there are tours from the town centre. These can be advised by the nearest STB office. [more ]
